Description

The Senior Accountant oversees accounting and reporting, general ledger reconciliation, and accounting policy development; computes and prepares data for journal entries, general ledger, and related financial statements; oversees all accounting functions. Prepares to consolidate and consolidates financial statements and other financial reports. The Senior Accountant will need to be hands-on and able to lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise a team in accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Requirements

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Prepares, reviews, and interprets data for inclusion in financial reports, statements, and summaries.

•Reviews financial data for accuracy; identifies problems and supports day-to-day operations.

•Analyzes and maintains all accounts receivable accounts, refund accounts, and deposit accounts.

•Manage month end closing; prepare journal entries

•Monthly financial statements to include consolidation of multiple entities

•Balance sheet reconciliations

•Produces accurate and timely monthly financial statements

•Explain variances to monthly revenues projections

•Prepare monthly commission reports

•Annual property tax assessment

•Fixed Assets and capital expenditure requests

•Weekly cash flow reporting; reviewing daily bank reconciliation

•Oversee the annual insurance audits

•Prepares quarterly forecasts

•Prepares minority business applications

•Special projects to include business acquisitions

•Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in accounting or finance or equivalent.

•Three to five years of related experience or equivalent.

•Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates

•Proficient in Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

•Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.

•Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.

Experience and Skills

•Minimum of three years experience in small-medium businesses or accounting firms, with a strong background in AR/AP, financial and management reporting, and consolidations of multiple entities.

•Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).

•Possess a CPA or CPA qualification preferred.

•Comfortable with Microsoft Office tools and functions. High literacy with Excel spreadsheet data processing.

•Good interpersonal skills required to operate in and maintain a team environment.

•Ability to problem solve with or without oral or written instructions
