Job Summary

The Sr Production and Revenue Accountant will oversee all aspects of production, revenue, and regulatory accounting for Murphy Oil's assets in Alberta and British Columbia. The role entails collaboration with departments such as Land, Operations, Field Data Capture, Marketing, as well as external engagement with third party producers, midstream entities, and regulatory agencies. This position will report to the International Accounting Manager within Murphy's Operations Accounting Organization.

The Sr Production and Revenue Accountant will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote with supervisor approval.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, allocate, analyze and input hours, well production volumes, and dispositions in Metrix
  • Appropriately allocate monthly volumes and liaise with third party facility operators
  • Update new well/facility, flow changes, and update gas and liquid analysis
  • Process and balance all facilities in Metrix (batteries and facilities)
  • Manage and update all system setups (Well, Facilities, Allocation Methodology, Fees, Royalties)
  • Gather, analyze, input and process all sales revenue transactions in Metrix Fees associated with NRI, Shrink/Yields, pricing
  • Maintain division of interest and TIK (take in kind) master data within Metrix
  • Resolve all fee discrepancies with third parties: Tariffs/Transportation, Fractionation, etc.
  • Allocate trucking charges to various producers
  • Prepare and submit oil pipeline splits
  • Provide and liaise with third party gas plant operators with residue gas and NGL pipeline splits
  • Book overriding royalty revenues as appropriate and ensure fee income is calculated and charged to third parties in accordance with applicable agreements
  • Update Petrinex SAF/OAF for all production and disposition to Alberta and British Columbia
  • Process Petrinex and Regulatory Reports associated with BC Crown Levy, Fuel/Gas lift Summary, and Oil/NGL valuation
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory directives in both Alberta and British Columbia
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 7 years' professional experience in Production and Revenue Accounting
  • Solid knowledge of E&P Oil and Gas Production and Revenue accounting
  • Strong proficiencies in Production, Revenue, and Regulatory accounting systems (e.g. SAP/ PRA, Oracle, IFS)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to latest technological trends
  • Great understanding of SOX controls
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in accounting or finance
  • Solid knowledge of E&P Oil and Gas Production and/ or Revenue accounting
  • Experience with Metrix and Petrinex preferred
  • Experience with Onshore Canada assets in Alberta and British Columbia preferred
