Position Overview

Mirador's Head of Engineering & Advanced Analytics will be responsible for overseeing a team of 3-4 developers. This team is responsible for the creation of cutting-edge technology that will automate critical wealth management reporting processes and give Mirador a competitive advantage on the reporting solutions it can provide their clients. This manager will have close connectivity with our senior partners who are championing this business-critical initiative and will report into our Chief Innovation officer.

Responsibilities

You will oversee the building of our document processing engine with an emphasis on service-oriented architecture. These components will be built using:
Python
SQL (Postgres)
REST-ful HTTP
SalesForce
AWS

- You will provide strategic direction in the development of tools to perform extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) on data retuned from off-the-shelf optical-character-recognition artificial intelligence components (implemented as web services) into wealth management portal software

- You will provide feedback to the user interface (UI) development team and work with them on the design of our own REST-ful APIs

- Your team will design, architect and support data development projects focusing primarily on our financial reporting solutions and service

- Oversee the evaluation and implementation of vendor application software and tools

- Oversee and manage the quality and timeliness of the organization's products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems

- Develop and manage detailed budgets and schedules and create work assignments for indirect tasking

- Guide the team in applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools using development methodology

Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related degree
Experience in managing a team of developers or technology professionals with various years of experience and capabilities
8+ years of relevant work experience with experience in ETL utilizing both enterprise tools and custom tools
Experience in design/architecture experience in data workflows and routing design
Strong expertise in Python development for web-based applications
8+ years of experience with on-prem database administration (PostgreSQL, mongoDB, MySQL)
Experience with Amazon Web Services (Redshift, S3, EC2, EMR, etc.)
NLP NER experience
Experience with profiling for Train/Validation/Test datasets
Experience with modern frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch
Front end web developer skills a plus
Experience with SalesForce APIs or Heroku is a plus
Interest in learning new systems and technologies within the wealth management industry
Strong process and project-management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, re-prioritize or problem solve as needed and ensure accurate delivery - start to finish/testing environment to production
Extremely detail oriented
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely
Approaches work with a mindset to continuously improve and streamline processes
