JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate the Tribal Justice Responses to Community and Domestic Violence 'Building Capacity of Tribal Courts to Issue Protective Orders" Alaskan Full Faith and Credit training utilizing developed curriculum to train tribal communities on the issuance and enforcement of tribal protection orders for victims of domestic violence. Work with partners to research and adapt training to ensure the training curriculum is current and implement training that is applicable to the Alaskan Tribes in their specific Region.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Tribal Justice Manager and partners to work on research and adaptations of existing curricula.
- Coordinate the modification and update of current curriculum and coordinate training in partnership with the Alaska Workgroup and the State of Alaska.
- Provide outreach and education sessions to community partners as needed.
- Gather input from tribes and other partners to revise curriculum and training.
- Assist with the reporting of grant goals and objectives. Gather, document, and track data as requested.
- Organize training logistics of all Full Faith and Credit trainings; assist Tribal Justice Manager with development of the pre-approval conference costs.
- Work with partners to deliver training to tribal communities.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Participates in regular required meetings and all required training

- Able to endure and balance work fluctuations, deadlines, and interruptions; must be able to work weekends, and long hours during occasional peak work periods.
- Regular travel to rural Alaska and ability to carry out job responsibilities in rural areas without, or with limited, running water and sewer systems.
- Requires extensive networking, teamwork with other employees, and an ability to share information and speak in open forums in front of groups.
- Performs sedentary activities that require sitting for long periods and repetitive keyboarding.
- Performs physical activities such as lifting, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Must know proper lifting techniques and be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Communicates with others outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, and other external sources in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail in keeping with current policies & procedures.
- Must have the ability to operate the following equipment: desktop computer, telephone, copier, PC printer, and fax machine.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly to grasp, type, see, talk, hear, and lift and carry [enter weight here] pounds of weight by utilizing proper lifting techniques and working in a safe manner. This position will also be performing physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and handling materials.
- Occasionally performs sedentary activities that require sitting for long periods and repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms for handling, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Must be in good general health and free from serious physical, mental health and/or substance abuse problems.
- Regular travel to rural Alaska without, or with limited, running water and sewer systems.
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel will be expected.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprints.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to human services or victim services, plus one (1) year or five (5) years equivalent education and related work experience.
- Experience in planning, developing, assessing and administering program services with Tribal communities; ability to work as a member of a team to assess the quality of services and develop program services.
- Responsible work ethic with reliable attendance.
- Proven ability and willingness to be self-directed in problem solving and decision-making and perform basic assignment with little or no direct supervision while also working effectively as a team member.
- Demonstrated intermediate level of computer skills necessary in order to use and create documents and reports, spreadsheets, workshop materials and slide presentations, and to enter data into intricate database programs and proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
- Must keep all matters concerning participants in strictest confidence as required by HIPAA privacy and the 42 CFR, Part II confidentiality regulations.
- Must be able to provide own transportation to meet work schedule requirements.
- Must have a valid driver's License and maintain a valid driver's license throughout the course of employment. Must provide a copy of current driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles annually.
- Must have an insured vehicle, present proof of insurance, and maintain proof of insurance throughout the course of employment.
- Advanced degree in human services, victim services, or related field.
- Two to three years of experience working in domestic violence, sexual assault and/or tribal protection orders preferred.
