Job Summary:

The Senior Buyer is responsible for leading procurement activities, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings initiatives within the organization. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards. The Senior Buyer collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and optimize the procurement process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement sourcing strategies to support business goals and objectives.
  2. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct supplier assessments, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  3. Manage supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, and address any issues or concerns to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  4. Analyze market trends, conduct cost analysis, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, engineering, and finance, to understand business requirements and ensure alignment of procurement activities with organizational needs.
  6. Lead cross-functional teams in supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance evaluations.
  7. Manage the procurement process from requisition to receipt of goods/services, ensuring adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
  8. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance metrics.
  9. Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
  10. Mentor and provide guidance to junior procurement staff, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, with a focus on strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • Proven track record of negotiating contracts, achieving cost savings, and improving procurement processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
