The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for maintaining quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
A QA/QC electrical inspector is responsible for inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and materials to ensure they meet local, state, and national codes and standards. They also work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
Some of the responsibilities of a QA/QC electrical inspector include:
- Performing visual inspections, dimensional tests, and electrical continuity tests
- Checking the installation of instruments and calibrating safety valves and instruments
- Verifying the qualifications of workers and witnessing inspections, tests, and controls
- Ensuring the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan
- Documenting and reporting defects to a supervisor
- Overseeing project close-out and quality reports
- Troubleshooting electrical and electronic circuits
- Reading schematics, P&IDs, 3 line and 1 line diagrams, and ladder logic
- Proficiency in computer programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with Allen Bradley, ROC, and ABB flow computers preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to use calibrated precision dimensional tools including micrometers and calipers. Familiarity with products.
Ability to read and interpret related, in-depth and complicated written specifications, codes, standards and procedures. Ability to prioritize various work assignments to ensure most critical items are inspected first.
Maintain inventory and service levels to meet all customer requirements. Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment.
Communication skills, both oral and written
Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word)
Team player, good statistical and numerical ability and detail-oriented
