DescriptionCommunity-Based Mental Health Rehab WorkerEast Grand Forks/Crookston AreasAs a Partner in Well-being, the Mental Health Rehab Worker or Practitioner provides rehabilitative services to adults with mental illness or children with emotional disturbance in the form of instruction, support, and assistance to promote psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustments, and independent living skills. Duties include completing functional assessments and level of care assessments, education on mental health issues, completing crisis screeners and various screening tools, providing coping skills education and modeling, prompting, and observing clients to meet their activities of daily living. Provides Mental health services as outlined in the client's treatment plan in the home, community, school, or office to help clients cope with and recover from the symptoms of their mental health condition. Practitioners may provide services to individuals, couples, families, or groups. Provide adequate documentation of services. Provide Targeted Case Management as a Case Management Associate to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and/or severe emotional disturbance as determined. CMAs require 5 hours of mentorship a week. Complete initial and ongoing mental health outcomes measurements as well as implement treatment plans. RequirementsMust have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet one of the following: Be fluent in the non-English language or competent in the culture of the ethnic group to which at least 20 percent of the mental health rehab worker clients belong, OR Have an associate of arts degree OR Have two years of full-time postsecondary education or a total of 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields OR Be a registered nurse, OR Have, within the previous 10 years, three years of personal life experience with mental illness OR Have within the previous 10 years, three years of life experience as a primary caregiver to an adult with a mental illness, traumatic brain injury, substance use disorder, or developmental disability, OR Have, within the previous 10 years, 000 hours of work experience providing health and human services to individuals.Must pass a criminal background.Access to a personal vehicle and the ability and willingness to use the vehicle in carrying out the position's responsibilities.Valid driver's license and insurable under the agency's automobile insurance policy.Must be 21, if the position provides you with an agency vehicle.Free from substance use problems for no less than 2 years.
