Job Description Responsible for student outreach activities aimed at recruiting individuals to enroll at Harper College. Two positions are available. One position will have an emphasis on the recruitment of high school students, and planning and facilitating engagement opportunities for prospective Black students and their families. The other will have an emphasis also on high school student recruitment, and bilingual candidates are preferred for this role.
Responsibilities
Meet recruitment objectives and assist in the enrollment goals as established by Harper College, the Director of Student Recruitment and Outreach and the Admissions Manager.
Integrate and explain policies and procedures of all areas of enrollment services and other closely related areas to all new students. Be able to anticipate students' needs by considering all aspects of the enrollment cycle. This position will be providing this level of service in person, over the phone and over email.
Works with students throughout the enrollment process and reviews information regarding career opportunities, program of study, placement, orientation and financial assistance. Assists in advising students on issues that will impact their placement, enrollment, financial assistance including the potential effect of changes in their course load, withdrawal from their classes and eligibility for a refund of tuition charges, and adherence to the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards policy and appeal process.
Assists students in understanding their financial obligations and educating them on how Harper College, federal, state and third-party resources can provide assistance.
Utilizes critical thinking, problem solving and experience with student issues to be proactive in addressing potential student concerns, identifying potential barriers within the student enrollment process and initiating steps resulting in resolution.
Makes referrals to faculty, counselors, program coordinators, campus support services, or other resources as needed.
Collaborates closely with key Harper College departments including the Academic Affairs, Admissions Processing, Counseling, One Stop and Financial Aid to assure effective student enrollment matriculation.
Participates and attends all scheduled events. Provides post information session report within 24 hours of event completion.
Reviews and provides feedback to Admissions Manager and Marketing Services on all pertinent promotional material and presentations.
Provides critical summary reports on all activities including student inquiries, applications, information meetings and event results.
Serves on appropriate College committees.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications or related field required.
Experience: 2+ years experience in student services, college admissions, educational recruiting or sales. Ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail essential. Must possess strong presentation, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Priority will be given to candidates who apply by November 1.
