Location: 15 minutes north of Tipton, Indiana (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Duration: Until late 2025
Rate: Up to $65 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

Our client, a manufacturer of highly custom products, is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant for a contract role lasting through 2025. This is an onsite position, working 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage costing for complex invoicing, processing 25-30 invoices per week.
  • Develop and implement costing methods from scratch due to the company's homegrown system.
  • Provide support during the company's transition to a new accounting system in 2025.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed cost accounting, with a focus on custom product manufacturing.
  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Play a role in the company's push into the government defense sector, which may involve standardizing processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in custom product costing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex manual processes.
  • Familiarity with system transitions and adaptability to new technology.
  • Knowledge of government defense contracting is a plus.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
