Yard Driver Opr - C Shift - RVI Scranton

Job Duties:
  • Un-tarp trailers and checks for foreign material before positioning into proper receiving area. Dump room personnel should be notified of rejects.
  • Perform preventative maintenance check on yard truck at the beginning and end shift. Inspect all trailers for defects and place red tag on trailer and report problem to truck shop.
  • Check and record blood level in all blood tanks.
  • Maintain a log of trailers/tankers received and unloaded.
  • Performs all assigned duties during slow periods and on weekends such as washing parking lot and trailers.
  • Responsible maintaining raw bins at correct level for production efficiency.
  • Assists receiving/preparation operators and other drivers as needed.
  • Insures that loads on the yard are dumped to prevent spoilage.
  • Coordinates with control room and other yard driver to maintain smooth product flow.
  • Responsible for proper air hose(s) connection prior to positioning trailer into receiving bay and trailer is unloaded.
  • All trailers, blood tanks/tankers should be inspected for cleanliness after being dumped. Yard dog should be cleaned out after each shift.
  • Trailers/tankers should be organized on the yard to ensure empty and loaded trailers/tankers are parked in their proper place.
  • When backing a loaded trailer/tanker into the dump room, the yard dog operator should stop ten feet before the ramp and proceed back only when okayed by a receiving/preparation operator.
  • Tankers will need to be transported to and from loadout and wastewater.
  • Yard dog should be operated in a safe manner at all times. All other duties assigned by Supervision.
Physical Demands and Requirements of Job:

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job listed below with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have a valid State Driver Licenses and a clean driving record.
  • NO DWI/DUIs in the last 12 months.
  • At least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Prefer tractor trailer experience.
  • Must exhibit a cooperative attitude.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Be able to with stand heat and cold.
  • Must be able to climb up and down steps.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Must have the ability to document information. Must have the ability to communicate with others written and verbally.
  • Rehires must wait 180 days for rehire and must not have more than 3 rehires.
