The MINIMUM BASE hourly pay rate for this position must be:Schedule:-Monday-Friday, 5:30-2:00pm*Preferred barista experiencePosition Summary:Reporting to the Food Services Manager and working within the kitchen, cafeteria, and/or patient services, the Pr. Food Service Worker functions as a Lead directing and prioritizing daily work flow for a specific area within Nutrition Services as assigned. Also, Pr. Food Service Worker functions as a cashier with responsibility for correct handling of cash transactions and maintaining satisfactory customer relationship during an assigned shift. Ensures adequate staffing and problem resolution to meet departmental standards (sanitation, customer service, etc.) Trains/orients new Food Service Workers. Assembles and delivers patient meal trays and prepares special orders. Occasionally mixes dietary supplements when directed and performs special function food and service preparation.Essential Job Functions: The identification of essential functions below is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties that may be assigned to this position, nor does it restrict the duties which may be assigned to this position if such duties reasonably relate to the position.Appropriately performs some food preparation duties while effectively assembling food and beverages on tray line, ensuring smooth flow and correct portion control.Complies with all HACCP rules.Functions as a Lead directing and prioritizing daily work flows; ensures adequate staffing problem resolution.Trains/orients new staff.Assists with timely delivery and set-up of catering events around the organization and cashiering for customers.Maintains cleanliness of dining room, work area, and assists with stocking of cafeteria and kitchen, cashiers when needed.Operates, assembles, disassembles, disinfects and cleans equipment and washes pots, pans, dishes and utensils.Processes priority meal service, delivers food to patients in a timely manner following established guidelines.Processes caf payments, delivers caterings, cleans dishes in a timely manner following established guidelines.Required Qualifications:All final candidates will be required to successfully complete an FBI fingerprinting process to comply with the University's cash handling policies.Skill in balancing currency, coins, checks, and credit card payments.Must be able to meet bonding requirements for cashiering functions.Must have a minimum 3 to 5 years prior skilled food preparation/service experienceKnowledge and practice of kitchen sanitary control techniquesAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidaysRTO must be on the submittal, No RTO the first two weeks of an assignmentPlease Note: Once RTO is submitted, this cannot be changed unless it's to cancel time requested - ensure that you have confirmed all dates needed off for the full 13 week contractCOVID Requirement: Traveler must be fully vaccinated
