Facilitates movement of patients to appropriate and alternate levels of care as needed and has the authority to facilitate the opening of transitional beds/unit in order to maximize patient throughput and ease excess capacity. This also includes patient access, transfer center and system wide coordination. Takes physician orders and completes admission assessments and other admission activities in times of unusually high activity. Maximizes patient throughput and access by working with Nursing divisions, Surgical areas and ED to adequately plan for admissions and discharges. Assures adequate staffing in all areas of the hospital and ensures that staffing changes are implemented quickly. Manages fluctuations in patient census utilizing productivity targets, staffing grids and appropriate resources. Promotes Relationship Based Care and models the UH essential behaviors during all interactions with patients, physicians and employees. Critical care, supervisory or Emergency Department experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated competence as a clinical practitioner. Demonstrated leadership, management and human relations skills required. Proven knowledge of insurance, hospital and professional regulations is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, physician relations experience strongly preferred. Extensive troubleshooting, resolution & follow up on high profile issues required. Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Information technology skills required.

Qualifications:
This position will also go into staffing if needed. Prior ED exp highly preferred.

Associates Degree in Nursing, ADN

RN - Registered Nurse

ADN/Diploma RN. BSN or MN preferred.

ACLS BLS.

3 years clinical nursing experience required.
