JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Quality Engineer will assist the Quality Manager in administering the procedures and policies of the Quality Department. This individual will also provide information and statistical analysis to management in the pursuit of cost avoidance, scrap, and rework reduction. This person will communicate with suppliers, customers, and manufacturing operations regarding quality issues and coordinate corrective actions.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish and monitor quality systems and procedures to ensure that all products and components, produced and purchased, meet applicable design and manufacturing requirements. • Perform machine and process capability studies, Gage R&R studies, and Gage correlation studies. • Write control plans, inspection instructions, and quality standards for manufacturing. • Analyze production defects, capability studies, and ISIR data and determine root cause and corrective actions. • Analyze customer line rejects and field complaints. Lead 8D’s. Determine and oversee the implementation of containment and corrective action plans. • Train operators and other manufacturing support personnel in collecting and using statistical data. • Assist and complete PPAP submissions to customers. • Participate and lead continuous improvement projects. • Program and understand measurement equipment and systems such as form scan, surface contour and measurements, air gaging, hardness tester, CMM, smart scope, and various hand gages. • Responsible for internal supplier quality activities, such as overseeing receiving inspection lab, implementing containments for suppliers, and working with global procurement to approve corrective actions and PPAPs. • Responsible and or facilitator to continuous improvement groups

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Engineering Degree or Equivalent Job Experience, 3 Years Minimum as a Quality Engineer, Experience with IATF 16949 Quality Systems, Core Tools Experience (APQP/FMEA/MSA/SPC/PPAP), Experience In GD&T, High Skills In Problem-Solving Methodologies And Tools, Excellent Communication Skills, Must Be Computer Literate And Operate Appropriate Statistical Software.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

SAP Experience, Statistical Software Minitab, Green Belt, Experience In FAB/Machining and Manufacturing Environments, And Experience in Applications Related to Hydraulic Systems.
