This position has responsibility for the strategic sourcing and management process on categories of low to moderately complex or specialized materials and supplies. Responsibilities may include performing advanced analyses for commodity team, assisting Sourcing Manager / Director with complex data gathering and analysis, assisting with developing and executing sourcing strategies, monitoring market movements, negotiating agreements, working with a broad base of business groups, and resolving issues with suppliers. Position will also work closely with the Sourcing Manager supporting more strategic, complex, or specialized categories

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS (

Responsibilities may include performing advanced analyses for commodity team, assisting Sourcing Manager / Director with complex data gathering and analysis, assisting with developing and executing sourcing strategies, monitoring market movements, negotiating agreements, working with a broad base of business groups, and resolving issues with suppliers. Position will also work closely with the Sourcing Manager supporting more strategic, complex, or specialized categories

This position will more specifically manage:

Essential Functions

With direction from Sourcing Manager, develop and implement sourcing strategies and plans for assigned categories consistent with global commodity team strategies and all applicable Business Unit operating plans and objectives. This may include:

  • Develop, issue & analyze RFQ's for assigned commodities or those areas directed by Sourcing Manager/Director.
  • Under direction of Sourcing Manager, as applicable, assist with implementing sourcing agreements which help to increase supply assurance and improve Sherwin-Williams' competitive position in the market.
  • Negotiate and resolve any claims or disputes concerning a supplier's performance on categories managed.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement, cost savings, and risk mitigation projects and initiatives for assigned categories.
  • Identifying and developing new suppliers.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials.
  • Forecast pricing on assigned categories to provide top management with key information for determining future finished goods pricing and budgetary impacts.
  • Management of established pricing (verification, resolution of discrepancies, etc.).
  • Develop written category strategies for assigned categories.
  • Ensure strategy alignment with Package Engineering, Operations, & Marketing with total cost and assured supply objectives.
  • Communicate to plants sourcing strategies, and market conditions impacting material supply.

Ensure compliance with department policies, procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a business field.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Minimum of two (2) years post college experience.
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems or issues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Preferred:

  • Four (4) years of successful Procurement, Supply Chain, Marketing, Technical, Supply Chain, or Operations experience.
  • A self-starter with an ability to work with minimal direction/supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with and influencing cross-functional teams and/or having experience in multiple functional areas.
  • Track record of increasing responsibility with strong performance and focus on cost savings and security of supply.
  • Proficiency with Oracle, QAD, Business Objects, Zycus, OBIEE, Tableau, or AOM.

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • PC Skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred:

  • Multi Lingual
