Internal Audit Lead

Larson Maddox's client seeks an experienced Technology Audit Lead to enhance their technology pillar, reporting to the Global Head of Technology Audit. This role will elevate technology audit capabilities across Security, Payment Compliance, and Trust and Safety businesses.
Responsibilities:
Lead planning and execution of operational audits and complex technology control assessments, leveraging data analytics to uncover insights and communicate recommendations to senior management.
Develop collaborative relationships with management, offering value-added services and establishing credibility as a management consultant and internal controls resource.
Understand complex technology stacks, engage with engineers and product teams, and serve as the authority on technical topics such as product security and payments compliance.
Evaluate technology risk management capabilities and controls, working closely with business partners to assess complex technologies across corporate and production environments.
Collaborate on audit program development tailored to the client's products.
Ensure audit work adheres to department and professional standards, seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
Identify and develop audit techniques, including data analysis and monitoring using internal platforms and technology.
Qualifications:
Relevant certifications in payments compliance and internal audit domains (e.g., CIA, FRMA, BSA/AML, CISSP).
Experience managing a portfolio of audits concurrently.
Experience managing audits addressing financial/operational and technology objectives.
Passion for emerging technologies, strong critical thinking skills, and ability to challenge the business credibly.
Experience in fast-paced, product-centric environments; startup or tech/fintech experience preferred.
Ability to assess complex technology environments against industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Strong written and verbal skills for executive reporting and presentations
Experience in global organizations managing projects across different time zones (Americas and EMEA).
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in technology risk compliance in payments compliance and privacy, including familiarity with privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and global payment compliance regulations.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; knowledge of external global payment compliance regulations and frameworks preferred.
