JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Department: Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Shift timings: 14:30 - 23:00 Mon, Thurs, Friday (5 Days/8 Hours) M-F no weekends, no call
Per Week: 40 Hours
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
- Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
- Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develop film in an automatic processor.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
- Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction toappropriate personnel.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
- MRI experience, GE preferred
- ARMRIT or ARRT MRI

- Must have a good work ethic and critical thinking skills.
- Minimum one year experience required.
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of current MRI Tech experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited MRI Tech program
- Active unencumbered Connecticut MRI Tech state license
- One year of Cerner experience
- ARRT Certification
