Requirements

  • Must have the ability to operate all required CNC equipment for this job.
  • Able to read basic mathematical measurements and perform calculations.
  • Capable of reading tape measure, digital calipers, gauges, and monitor readouts
  • Ability to detect issues with materials or mechanisms and rely to leadership.
  • Must be able to read written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize and work under time constraints.
  • Must be a team player and willing to be trained to work in other areas as assigned.
  • Must be able to communicate well with peers and management.
  • Must be able to work 1st shift, with periods of required overtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The CNC Programmer is responsible for the creation, setup, troubleshooting and organization of all CNC machine programs.

Here's What You'll Get To Do
  • Train directly with senior CNC programmers, includes a mix of hands-on machine and programming software training.
  • Responsible for creating all programs for each product line in manufacturing.
  • Assigns orders to operators based on weekly production schedule & capacity.
  • Monitor tooling inventory for all CNC machinery and maintain a sufficient supply to keep up with production needs.
  • Create efficient and defect free CNC programs using fabrication drawings specifically for CNC machines.
  • Update the Fabrication Supervisor and follow production floor scheduling,
  • Catalog/Organize all programs/set-up sheets in main server.
  • Assign program numbers and record on traveler and set-up sheet.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality paperwork.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, milling, and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Assist shop employees in machine operation, PM and troubleshoot on shop floor.
  • Maintains machine performance by adhering to OBE maintenance best practices and procedures.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Understanding of all manufacturing and engineering processes and procedures, applicable to areas of responsibility
  • Operate computer-aided design (CAD) system ELU CAD
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
What We're Looking For
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 - 2 year of related experience
  • Good computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Ability to learn and adapt to computer programs.
  • Working knowledge of reading and interpreting fabrication drawings
  • Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects, multitask and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees at all levels.
  • Machining experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Working knowledge of CNC Programming
  • Ability to read, write and fully understand machine "G" code is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for entire shift on concrete, up to 10-12 hours.
  • Stand, stoop, bend twist or sit for long periods of time.
  • Grasp, squeeze, hold/handle thin to thick metal, hand/power tools, small parts & large items
  • Reach, handle, grasp & turn and lift using upper body while moving.
  • Lift, push, pull or move up to 50 lbs. individually or 100 lbs. with a partner.
  • Visual acuity to inspect aluminum for various quality flaws.
  • Use a hand pallet and or motorized pallet jack.
  • Proper wear of all required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Work in temperatures consistent with same outdoor climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
