POSITION: Senior Refrigeration Engineer
LOCATION:

Denver, CO

POSITION OVERVIEW
Applies refrigeration and mechanical systems design knowledge, skill, and ability to create construction drawings for the project owner and provides continuous professional support throughout the entire construction process.

Serves as the primary liaison responsible for coordination and communication activities between the design team and the client/customer and provides project management oversight and professional support throughout the entire construction process.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Design complete refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial applications including, but not limited to, the following:
Perform heat load calculations using computer software and spreadsheets.
Sizing and Selection of refrigeration equipment.
Refrigeration equipment layout and pipe routing.
Sizing of refrigeration piping and selection of valves.
Control I/O and sequencing.
Participate in the development of standard library of drawings
Develop and edit project specifications for refrigeration system designs.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team throughout all project phases.
Review and discuss project goals, objectives, and design standards with Project Managers.
Review construction and shop drawings, respond to Requests For Information, and perform site visits throughout construction phase to ensure projects are being constructed in accordance with design documents
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

REQUIREMENTS
Working knowledge of refrigeration standards and codes.
Proficient with heat load calculations
Proficient with component selection including evaporators, condensers, compressors, and valving
Ability to effectively communicate ideas using a variety of media.
Understanding of refrigeration standards and regulatory codes.
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineer or related field
Professional expertise demonstrated through a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience designing various refrigeration project types including both central ammonia plants and packaged refrigeration systems
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Working knowledge and ability to create design and construction document deliverables utilizing Revit and AutoCAD.
Professional Engineering licensure is a plus
Knowledge of CO2 refrigeration a plus
Knowledge of HVAC, fire sprinkler, or plumbing design is a plus.
