Cancer Partners of Nebraska is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) that assists the physician and/or registered nurses in providing patient care in a clinical setting. This position performs routine activities required for the efficient operation of the clinic and assures the efficient and effective functioning of clinic processes. We have employer-paid short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance available, as well as HSA contributions.Key responsibilities Include:Patient Care - accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, collecting patient history, performing screenings per provider guidelines, assisting physicians/nurses with bone marrow biopsies and other sterile procedures as needed, charting, relaying instructions to patients/families, answering calls and providing pertinent informationClerical - determining which medical records are required for patient visits, calling in prescriptions, completing forms/requisitions as neededEnvironmental - setting up instruments and equipment according to protocol, cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control, ordering, sorting, storing supplies, restocking exam/procedure roomsMaintains strictest confidentialityEducation and Training:CMA:High School DiplomaGraduate of an accredited Medical Assisting ProgramSuccessful completion of certification examinationLPN:High School DiplomaGraduate of an accredited Practical Nursing ProgramState licensureExperience:Minimum of one year medical office experienceRequirements:CMA, LPN, CPRKnowledge:Knowledge of specific assisting tasksKnowledge of and appreciation for a teamwork concept, clinic policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care as it relates to the Clinic areaKnowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuationKnowledge of customer service concepts and techniquesKnowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and other regulatory policiesSkills:Skill in customer service, communications, problem solving, organization and confidentiality (HIPAA) Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutionsSkill in computer keyboardingAbilities:Ability to act in a professional and positive manner when interacting with patientsAbility to react calmly and effectively in stressful situationsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively in person, in writing and on the phone in the English languageAbility to establish/maintain effective, cooperative relationships with physicians, staff, patients and their familiesSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayNo weekendsBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingHealth insuranceHealth savings accountDental insuranceDisability insuranceVision insuranceLife insuranceEmployee assistance programPaid time offTuition reimbursementEnvironmental and Physical DemandsVaried activities including sitting, walking, stooping, lifting, bending and reachingRequires hand-eye coordination Vision must be corrected to 20/20 and hearing must be in normal rangeMust be able to view computer screens for long periodsMust be able to transfer/transport patients safelyOccasional lifting, carrying and moving up to 50 poundsOccasional stress related to workload and patients with problemsPossible exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances and medicinal preparationsCPN is an equal opportunity employer.
