Description

Reporting to our General/Sales Manager, our Supply Chain Manager plans, organizes, directs, controls and coordinates the supply, storage and distribution of goods as well as oversees the facility from a maintenance perspective.

Major accountabilities include:
  • Develop a vision and strategy for Supply Chain performance including standards of performance, continuous improvement, forecasting, facility operations
  • Set the stage for a high performing team by engaging Team Members through coaching and mentoring initiatives
  • Build both internal and external relationships through supporting, networking and teambuilding
  • Lead and support company-wide Continuous Improvement efforts through the implementation of lean processes and team collaboration
  • Support the design and development of IT systems that support all current and future warehouse and delivery needs
Specific Responsibilities include:
  • Direct the operational processes including inventory control, logistics and distribution
  • Ensure that every step of the processes are functioning effectively to avoid costly delays and lost sales opportunities.
  • Collaborates with managers and key team members primarily in inventory, logistics and distribution, as well as the location management team .
  • Train, develop, mentor and assist the team in all of the departments that fall within the supply chain process.
  • Create a comprehensive plan for facilities, fleet, and capital requirements
  • Ensure collaboration in routing decisions with soft drink, grocery and beer The Supply Chain Manager should be a proven professional with a varied experience in Supply Chain preferably in the consumer goods industry. The fully qualified candidate will have a Bachelors or Associates Degree in Business Management or related field and a minimum of five years of supervisory and/ or supply chain management experience.
Specific Skills required include:
  • CPIM certification or progress towards preferred.
  • Must have Class A license or ability to obtain Class A
  • Be highly motivated, with superior analytical and computer skills
  • Ability to operate complex computer systems and learn Bernick's applicable proprietary systems.
  • Possess a high level of understanding of service, equipment and sales interdependencies.
  • Ability to proactively identify and report problems to the appropriate individual.
  • Required to travel to other Bernick's locations on either a day trip or overnight if the situation warrants.
  • Working in an office and a warehouse environment with changing climate conditions.
