Our clients company, a dynamic Manufacturing Facility located in Bellingham, WA, specializes in the cutting-edge field of precision engineered carbon fiber, including design, engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing. They are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, ideally a recent graduate, to join their development team.
This role involves playing a pivotal part in ramping up production on innovative Electric Vehicle (EV) systems. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on development, applying both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a real-world setting.
Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical systems and components using CAD software.
Conduct thorough research and analysis to determine the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanical systems.
Perform detailed calculations and simulations to ensure functionality and safety of mechanical designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical components into larger systems.
Produce technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for manufacturing and construction purposes.
Test and evaluate prototypes, identifying design flaws and implementing necessary improvements.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during manufacturing or operational phases.
Provide expert technical support and guidance to fellow engineers and technicians.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and simulation software (e.g., Simulink).
Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in mechanical engineering.
Capability to perform root cause analysis for design or operational issues.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for precise engineering specifications.
Skill in fabricating prototypes or test models using various tools and equipment.
Strong drafting skills for creating accurate technical drawings and blueprints.
Must be willing to wear PPE on the manufacturing floor due to exposure to carbon fiber and non-organic materials.
