The Controller manages the financial records and maintains the accounting systems used in various accounting schedules, financial statements, board reports, and analyses. The Controller ensures that all accounting policies and procedures are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and prepares and submits all financial reports to top management and government agencies. Also supervises accounting staff. Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate company financial statement presentation. Prepare and complete information for tax reporting purposes. Oversee the preparation of and submit reports to the Asset Liability Committee. Organize the Matrix of Controls and present to Internal Audit for testing. Monitor cash management and daily liquidity needs. Organize, facilitate, and measure cost control strategies. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. Oversee daily operations of the Finance and Controls department. Manage the preparation of the public company reporting. Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory reporting requirements. Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Design, establish, and maintain structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives. Serve on planning and policy-making committees. Other duties as assigned. Relationships and Contacts The Controller reports to the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and will have daily interaction with Group Heads and Leaders from across the Bank. This position also requires interaction with federal and state examiners when audits are being conducted. Further, must be able to communicate and facilitate external audit and consultant engagements. Additionally, relationships with third-party vendors must be retained and at times new relationships developed. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of prior accounting experience with a minimum three years with a public company. CPA designation strongly preferred. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. Posted:
