**About You:**
As a member of the Vail Resorts Finance organization, the Shared Services Team is committed to Building Leaders and Driving Value. The Inventory Accounting - Sr Assistant is a crucial resource providing support for all aspects of Vail Resorts inventory accounting. This individual will support the VRR Inventory Accounting Analyst and the Inventory Accounting Manager from an operational and monthly close management perspective. Responsibilities include journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, variance analysis, and additional ad hoc duties as requested; with the bulk of the daily work being field communication, inventory adjustments, cost correction entries, transfer issues, and system research for problem resolution. This job requires the ability to meet deadlines, keen attention to detail, act as an agent of change and process improvement minded, enthusiastic team player with a can-do attitude, strong work ethic, with the ability to periodically work late and on weekends as needed periodically.
**Job Responsibilities:**
* Month end close duties include creating timely and accurate journal entries to true-up inventory, putting together backup to support these entries, and reconciling inventory balance sheet accounts
* Communication with the field on counts and making sure they are received before monthly adjusting JEs are made
* Attend and engage in team meetings
* Support external teams stores, distribution centers, area and regional managers
* Support internal teams accounts payable, operations, GL accounting, sales audit
* Assist with month-end account reconciliation
* Conduct back end administrative work related to physical inventory counts
* Provide field reporting as requested
* Provide monthly inventory metrics to senior leadership
* Ad-hoc reporting as requested
**Requirements:**
* Bachelors degree preferred
* 1 year accounting experience
* High volume inventory experience a plus
* Efficient MS Office skills
* Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt quickly to changing business needs
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of business stakeholders
* This individual must be a self-starter with a drive for excellence, able to build strong working relationships throughout the organization and a proven ability to be a leader in a dynamic and changing environment. Must be able to handle a fast paced, high stress environment.
* Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials system, Merchandise Management System (MMS), Coupa, and OnBase experience (Preferred).
The budgeted range starts at 18.00 - 22.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
