Bakkavor Salads is made up of several sites across the UK. Bourne specialises in making prepared fruit, leafy salads and stir fry mixes. It employs over 1,100 people and forms part of the Bakkavor Salads sector in the UK.

The role:

In this busy and interesting role, you will work closely with our production teams to ensure that the most stringent levels of production and food hygiene are met. You will be hands-on as part of the team, in the deep clean of the production and storage areas. You will use a combination of hand and mechanical/electrical tools (once trained) where you will work to the hygiene cleaning schedule plan, cleaning large-scaled production equipment. By deep clean this will mean, dismantling production equipment in line with the hygiene rota, hand sanitising and using cleaning chemicals and other equipment including pressure cleaners and water jets before reassembling the equipment.

The typical day of a Hygiene Operative involves working in a small team or on your own following a clear cleaning schedule for our production lines, whether that be a full deep clean with chemicals and taking equipment apart or routine regular cleans. The role will require you to record completion of cleaning activities and ensure due diligence.

You will be provided will appropriate PPE and full training to complete your role.

This is a fast-paced role but the shifts fly by and youll always have something to do.

Job Accountabilities:

* Work independently and in small teams

* Work to a cleaning schedule

* Work with chemicals and other cleaning materials

* Assist team leader/manager where required

About You:

* Previous hygiene experience is desirable but not essential

* Be enthusiastic and conscientious

* Understand or be willing to learn the principles and application of Food Safety

* Have a proactive approach to Food Safety

* Be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment and working in a factory environment with cleaning chemicals.
