Loop 281, Longview, TX 75603 USAEmployment Type: Hourly | Full-TimeAbout Norris Cylinder CompanyMain Duties & ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities include the following: Producing machined parts by setting up, and operating acomputer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safetystandards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.JobDuties include the following:Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions,including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets,compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, includingbasic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjustingthree- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears,stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; trimming heads.Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part,and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving,and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations;taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes;adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools;adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.QualificationsExperience,Competencies and EducationHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED);plus Trade/Technical school certificate and/or two to five years relatedexperience and/or training which includes the following:2+ years runninglathes at production rate; Fluent in G code and M code programming;Okuma, Mori and Mazak lathe experience ; or equivalent combination of educationand experience.Must possess an education or experience level thatpermits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignmentsand responsibilities of the job.Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze and interpret the documentsrelating to the job, function or assignment.Reasoning AbilityAbility to make decisions when identifying in-processproblems.Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments.
