Sonoran Roots is looking for a highly motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Budtender/Receptionist.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Part-Time Budtender/Receptionist greets customers with a dedicated focus on

exceptional service, actively engaging and assisting them by understanding their

preferences and product requirements. They offer guidance and information on

cannabis products, characteristics, specials, and pricing. As an ambassador for the

Ponderosa brand, the Budtender aims to excite, promote, and educate customers

about Ponderosa offerings. Lastly, they contribute to maintaining a pristine and

professional environment that reflects top-tier standards.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - PART-TIME BUDTENDER/RECEPTIONIST:

• Welcome visitors and customers warmly, both in person and over the phone, applying

relationship-building principles to foster positive experiences and ongoing customer

relationships.

• Verify patient eligibility using the Arizona Department of Health Services Verification

System.

• Direct and check-in customers following State compliance and Point of Sale System

procedures.

• Provide customers with information and educational resources about cannabis,

including strains, methods of administration, effects, and precautions.

• Operate a cash register, accurately itemizing and totaling purchases while adhering to

regulatory limits and applying discounts or specials as required.

• Process customer payments accurately, issue receipts and refunds, and provide

correct change when needed.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment.
• Balance the cash drawer and conduct audits at the beginning and end of shifts to

ensure accuracy and proper organization.

• Establish and maintain relationships with current and potential customers to drive

business growth.

• Maintain oversight and chain-of-custody for all assets within the assigned

workstation.

• Weigh and record product quantities with precision.
• Manage customer records and all materials containing customer information

appropriately.

• Assist in product preparation and display tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Attention to detail and ability and willingness to follow instructions
• 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in a cannabis dispensary or related industry.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, individual able to work independently or productively in teams
• Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot problems
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Strong communication skills

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Reliable attendance and communication - show up to work when you say you will and do what you say you will do.
• Criminal background checks will be performed; most marijuana-related crimes will not negatively impact an application.
• Reliable transportation.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred):

• Experience in the cannabis industry (formal or informal)
• Knowledge of MS Excel
• High school diploma or GED.
• Cannabis-related education.

License/Certification: Must obtain and maintain an AZDHS Facility Agent Card to start work.
