SUMMARY:

The VP, Clinical Lab Operation’s primary responsibilities are to manage the workflow of the laboratory operational division to achieve the goals set forth by the organization's senior management team as it relates to daily operations. Directs and coordinates activities of the technical and clinical support areas of HNL.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for operational excellence strategic planning. Measures and monitors HNL’s progress within the operational excellence standards required to meet the company’s needs for growth.

Leads HNL’s annual operating plan process. Designs, develops, measures, monitors and reports quality assessment system(s) to ensure competitive differentiation is successful. Participates in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of HNL’s strategic and performance plans, goals and objectives.

Leads a team of Operational Excellence experts, including the PMO and Lean Six Sigma Black Belts.

Ensures that these teams deliver expected improvement results within established timeframes.

Applies continuous improvement tools and techniques, as well as other Lean Six Sigma principles and tools.

Works with functional and site leaders as a "thought leader" to create future state improvement roadmaps with clear, executable plans that align with the business strategies’ improvement needs.

Works with local team members to instill effective daily work management behaviors, such as a daily metric review. Establishes and improves monitoring systems to support division leadership.

Coaches employees on the use of foundational Lean Six Sigma tools, concepts and practices to build self-sufficiency, sustainability and scalability. Contributes toward building a grass-roots culture of continuous improvement.

Participates in teams of practice; leads Lean/Six Sigma or project management classes; documents business processes and completion of required continued learning.

Enhances quality systems and measurements; supports division leadership to ensure data is accurate and in line with the regulatory compliance forecast.

Defines project timelines and develops a company-level system to monitor on-time delivery of projects.

Manages teams to achieve exemplary customer satisfaction through initiatives like post project customer satisfaction surveys.

Leverages technology and implements systems to drive efficient use of resources and sustainable processes that encourage employee engagement. Develops plans for new areas of technology for the production functions; provides sufficient planning for areas that support the mission, vision and values of HNL.

Acts as a consultant to business issues or barriers to compliance or execution. Provides resources and guidance to enable HNL Operations to effectively manage scheduling.

Manages financial efficiencies, quality and productivity; works with all stakeholders to meet schedules and established timelines.
