Prepares preliminary (redline) design layouts for estimating.Provide technical guidance to Engineering Team in the development of standards, projects, and people.Responsible for the quality of work produced by assigned design engineering group.Participates in conceptual design for specific projects.Represents the company as a design professional at project team design meetings.Initiate and maintain liaison with client personnel and coordinate with other disciplines contractors, architects, and other project team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects to facilitate successful construction activities within the prescribed time frames.Develop and maintain relationships with external project teams during preconstruction phase of projects (engineer of record, A/E, GC, Owner, other disciplines).Performs deliverables and products such as calculations, drawings, and specifications related to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems.Performs calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection, and sizing, pipe and duct sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.Performs site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and resolves design issues during the construction phase.Responsible for Code Compliance.Communicate and manage project goals and requirements with business development, engineering, estimating, and construction project management.What you'll need to be successful:Excellent working knowledge of HVAC design to include types of equipment utilized in the industry as well as general understanding of system operations (i.e. variable air, constant volume, refrigeration cycle.)Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, including project management and field trades.Ability to communicate effectively with general contractors/clients while exhibiting company core values.Ability to read mechanical and plumbing drawings well.Competent with general business writing and public speaking.Competent in basic computer skills to include CADD, Trane Software and Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel.)Strong knowledge of engineering industry.What you bring to the table:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. P.E. license preferred; 8+ years experience in related field.
