Job Summary:
The VP Operations-Hospital Administrator is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the rehabilitation hospital. This position is accountable for planning, organizing and directing all hospital operations.
Essential Functions:
Create an environment and culture that enable the hospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals.
Take responsibility for all day-to-day operations of the hospital: measurement, assessment and improvement of the hospitals performance.
Be accountable for planning, organizing and directing hospital operations to ensure that quality care is provided, and that financial integrity as well as patient safety of the institution is well maintained.
Participate in planning, creating and executing the markets strategic, operational, service design and other organizational plans and policies to achieve the mission and vision of the local market in concert with the President & CEO, Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Nursing officer, among others
Design, develop and implement a strategic plan that focuses on clinical excellence, financial performance and market and business development
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as policies and procedures set forth by the governing board, medical staff and The Joint Commission, DOH and CARF.
Work collaboratively with the President & CEO and the CMO in targeting the appropriate physicians and organizing the relationships with the acute care hospitals.
Foster and promote employee engagement in every aspect of decision-making.
Promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as a foundational pillar. Lead by example.
Convey the hospital mission to all staff.
Hold staff accountable for performance/performance improvement, and motivate, recognize and reward positive results.
Develop and Empower Others promote talent development as a business imperative
Collaborate with GSPP as a partnership.
Represent GSR, AMPRA and other associations as a spokesperson for Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital
In collaboration with the CMO and CNO, create a team approach to patient care and problem-solving.
Establish short-term and long-term plans to support the hospital's values, vision, customer service and general objectives.
Organize hospital functions through delegation of duties, appropriate departmentalization and maintains accountability from managers.
Recommend hospital policy positions to the respective Governing Boards regarding legislation, government, administrative policy and other public policies.
As part of a team, design and implement an effective Business Plan to meet hospital occupancy goals and objectives.
Recommend policies to support patient care and ensure that accurate and complete records are maintained.
Review and act on DOH, JACHO and CARF reports.
Prepare annual budget including internal financial controls.
Integrate the hospital with the community through effective communication and public relations.
Maintain professional affiliations to enhance professional growth and remain current with the latest trends in hospital administration.
Identify and develops relationships with key physicians and other potential hospital relationships.
Develop rapport with local hospital management and local decision makers.
Maintain and update presentations, proposal content and contracts consistent with the company's development and operational initiatives.
Assist in development and revision of collateral materials.

Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's Degree required
Master's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related healthcare field preferred
Work Experience
5+ years of leadership experience in healthcare management
Must have prior experience leading a Rehabilitation Hospital of 50 or more beds.

Proven experience developing positive working relationships with corporate leadership, peers, personnel, and staff
The emotional intelligence to communicate professionally and with the utmost sensitivity to patients and their families and staff members during challenging situations
Exemplary track record of achieving high level of performance, patient safety satisfaction, quality, employee engagement and financial success.
In-depth understanding of the emerging trends and new opportunities within rehabilitation and post-acute care
Background in the development of new programs and services that result in volume growth
Location: Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Center Valley IP GSRH - Div Admin IP
Schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/wk), Day Shift - 8 hours, 8:00AM - 5:00PM
