Maintenance Helper/Trainee

Maintenance Helper/Trainee Join a dynamic team of maintenance professionals in a welding shop dedicated to producing cable management and skid packages for the data center industry. As a Maintenance Helper/Trainee, you will support a team of four maintenance experts, handling essential tasks that ensure operations run smoothly. This position offers you the opportunity to learn and grow into a skilled maintenance mechanic or electrician, setting you up for significant career advancement. Responsibilities: Assist the maintenance team with various tasks in a welding shop environment. Perform general labor and support tasks as assigned. Engage in hands-on training to develop skills as a maintenance mechanic/electrician. Work with mechanical tools and hand tools. Be available to work flexible hours, starting as early as 6am or as late as 8am, and staying as late as necessary during machine downtimes. Essential Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge. Experience in automotive or mechanical positions, preferably 1-2 years. Ability to work in hot and dirty environments. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Capability to work under tense conditions without frustration. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience in maintenance or as a skilled helper (electrician, plumber, carpenter) is a plus. Work Environment: Work in a non-climate-controlled welding shop around machinery, with a daily expectation of getting dirty. Shifts are from 6am/8am to 2:30pm, with flexibility required. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00/hr.
