Brookhaven Hospital specializes in the rehabilitation of adults with neurologic disorders such as acquired brain injury(ABI). Brookhaven is a nationally recognized provider of neurobehavioral interventions for persons with cognitive and behavioral disorders resulting from ABI. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAccurately and safely prepares, administers and documents the administration of all appropriate, physician-ordered medications and treatments under the leadership of a licensed nurse, in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures and federal/state regulationsAdminister medications per facility policy/procedureEnsure departmental computer workstations are properly logged off per facility policyImmediately report changes in patient's condition to facility Charge Nurse, House Supervisor, or Director or NursingSupports patients in self care and provides care assistance as necessary Assists with the planning and organizing of activities and groups Supports patients in completion of tasks to ensure cleanliness of the household including patient rooms, common spaces, support spaces and equipmentProvides oversight and assistance in the completion of personal laundry Maintains supply of all materials to meet household and patient needsQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Must be a Advanced Certified Medication Aide (ACMA) with Glucose certification, having successfully completed the state approved training program and any necessary examination(s) - 1 year experience preferredMust have a current Certified Nursing Assistant CertificationFood Handlers PermitCPI/CPR CertificationMeet qualifications to become certified driverMust be able to work rotating weekend shiftsAbility to pass state or federal background checks, pre-employment physical and drug screenPHYSICAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods May be required to lift or push up to 65lbs Requires the ability to read, write, and process information accurately.COMPETITIVE BENEFITS PACKAGE Sign on bonus & referral bonus available Company paid Medical Insurance for employee Dental and Vision Insurance Flexible Spending Account Hospital Indemnity, Accident and Critical Illness plans available Company paid Life Insurance Supplemental Life Insurance Company paid Long-Term Disability / Optional Short-Term Disability 401K with employer match Vacation time, sick time, and personal holidays Holiday pay Tuition Reimbursement*This position has been deemed a safety sensitive position.
