This is a second shift position, 2:25 p.m. - 1:00 a.m., and is eligible for shift differential of 7.5% of base pay.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate CMM programs from CATIA models using PC-DMIS.
- Verifies first part of production for conformance utilizing specifications, drawings, and customer workmanship standards.
- Generate procedures and work instructions that meet regulatory and customer driven requirements.
- Performs First Article Inspections of initial production runs per requirements.
- Perform CMM inspection utilizing customer supplied models and drawings.
- Create and provide training methodologies surrounding the use and functions of the CMM to shop personnel.
- Verify and approve Orion generated drawings and mylars using customer supplied digital data.
- Ensure quality standards are met throughout production runs.
- Verification of specifications concerning products upon arrival used for product.
- Verification of all process specifications concerning product.
- Complete Orion's Quality System required reports and forms.
- Interface with customer representatives for evaluation of nonconforming product as needed.
- Interface with Orion Staff and customer representatives to coordinate problem solving concerning quality issues.
- Coordinate planning operations as result of nonconformance's and opportunities for improvements.
- Create and provide training methodologies surrounding the use and functions of the CMM to shop personnel.
- Ensure that procedures and work instructions are followed, and Quality Management system is adhered to.
- Conduct other inspection activities as required such as in process inspection, finish inspection, and other dimensional inspection support.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years CMM Programming and Operating experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Geometric and Dimensional Tolerancing.
- Knowledge of Catia and CAD desired.
- Aerospace experience required.
- PCDMIS experience required.
- Strong mathematical skills and experience with solving simple trigonometry-based formulas.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, CNC equipment and quality standards.
- Experience with ISO 9000/AS 9100, FAA regulations, part inspections and conformities, the proper use of inspection equipment, corrective/preventative actions, root cause analysis, internal auditing, and vendor quality surveillance preferred.
- Supplier development and customer quality support experience.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent internal/external customer service skills.
- Time management - ability to complete tasks/projects with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Required to work as an interface with high profile and demanding customers regarding quality of parts.
