Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The Senior Estimator will oversee the bidding process, coordinating new business opportunities. Reporting to the CEO/Owner, he or she will have a direct impact on corporate profitability as well as significant interaction with the entire company. This is a full-time position primarily focused on compiling take off measurements and preparing detailed cost estimates for large, extensive or multiple new project leads.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the estimating process

Analyze project requirements and develop detailed cost breakdowns

Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate take offs and cost estimates

Coordinate with project managers, materials manager, architects, and contractors/subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates

Prepare and submit bids and proposals for relevant flooring projects

Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers

Procurement of subcontractor agreements

Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities as needed

Monitor project costs throughout the process and implement cost control measures as needed

Management of all project documents, including tracking production & identifying change orders

Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of estimates

Requirements & Qualifications:

Relevant Education and/or proven experience in an estimating role

In-depth understanding of construction procedures and flooring materials

Proficiency in estimating software, such as ProCore and/or alternative programs

Familiarity with contract law and ability to review and interpret contract documents

Experience with HCSS Estimating Software

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Strong negotiation, written and verbal communication skills

Strong ability to work in a team environment and independently

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour

Schedule:

8 hour shift

Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:

New Haven, CT 06513: Relocate before starting work (Required)
