Job Summary

As a Senior Buyer at Berk Enterprises, you will represent the Procurement Team in the management of sourcing and purchasing of merchandise. This role will supervise the Category Buyers who are responsible for all Project and Inventory Management activities related to assigned commodities. This role requires some familiarity with Project Management, as well as a range of procurement activities including analysis of spend, purchasing, management of vendor relationships, and problem solving.

What you will be doing during your career with Berk Enterprises:

Monitor all Purchase Activity for assigned Categories.

Process requests for quotes & bids.

Facilitate our sales organization by sourcing products from established vendors.

Work directly with sourcing team to ensure competitive pricing and beneficial purchasing activity in alignment with company goals.

Manage RFQ activity for all commodities.

Resolve Vendor Payment issues with Finance team to ensure that we are meeting our financial obligations to vendors.

Work with Product Management to offer domestic replacement solutions for out-of-stock products and drive sales for assigned product category.

Update order details in system database relating to expected delivery date, cost, etc.

Provide guidance and support to junior members of the purchasing team.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

To be considered for a career with us, you will need:

2+ years’ relevant experience.

Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to meet tight deadline

Fundamental Procurement capabilities as evidenced by certification (APICS, SPSM) highly preferred but not required

Knowledge of Supply chain concepts and Purchasing procedures

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
