Running the register, pulling merchandise to make room for new products, attending the fitting rooms, and setting a friendly atmosphere for customers and co-workers alikeJOB SUMMARY:The Sales Associate works under the direction of store management to maintain efficient store operations. Responsible for providing outstanding customer service while maintaining a clean, organized, safe store.The Sales Associate is expected to create a positive employee and customer experience by modeling Goodwill's mission and citizenship behaviors at all times. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties include the following:Cashiering, ensuring accurate tenders and a balanced cash drawer; position will be primarily cashieringProvides a best-in-class customer experienceScanning books for processingGeneral housekeeping and store appearancePulling and merchandising inventory according to the sales floor planAttending to the fitting roomsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAbility to display a positive, friendly attitude to maintain a positive work environmentMathematical and literacy skills to support job dutiesAbility to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.A criminal background check that meets agency standardsExerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSRetail experience or certificationHigh school diploma, GED, HiSET, or equivalentCashiering experienceIn addition to employment that is fulfilling, meaningful and supportive, Goodwill employees also receive:Medical InsuranceFlex SpendingVision and Dental offered *Paid Short & Long Term DisabilityPaid Life InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off Plan (pro-rated for Part-Time employees) *Paid Holidays (pro-rated for Part-Time employees) *403(b) retirement plan, with employer match *30% Employee discount at Goodwill stores in ME, NH & VT *Valuable job training with growth potential *Discount on personal cell phone plans *Local community discounts ** These benefits also available to Part-Time employees
