Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist, looking to work in person, to join our school-based team in San Diego, CA The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting eligibility assessments, developing individualized education plans (IEPs) with customized goals to address students' identified needs, implementing evidence-based treatment plans, managing caseloads efficiently, and collaborating closely with teachers, families, and the multidisciplinary school team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students' eligibility for speech and language services.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, incorporating goals tailored to each student's specific areas of need.
- Implement evidence-based treatment plans to address speech and language disorders, targeting goals outlined in the IEP.
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities.
- Monitor and document student progress towards goals, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to maximize outcomes.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom curriculum, providing support and resources as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss student progress, provide strategies for home reinforcement, and address any concerns or questions.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input and recommendations regarding students' speech and language needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including progress notes, assessment reports, and attendance records.
- Stay current with research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology, incorporating new techniques and strategies into practice as appropriate.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to speech and language therapy.
- Collaborate with other members of the school-based team, including special education teachers, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive services for students.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) - preferred but optional.
- Experience working in a school setting, preferably with students with diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of practice.
