PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
The Dining Room Host/Cashiers main goal is to promote and ensure guest satisfaction, achieved through their ability to develop and maintain a strong team environment, placing emphasis on employee satisfaction and delivery of prompt, courteous, correct service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Assign stations to servers, assign side work as needed for that shift.
Maintain guest flow charts to track number of guests to each station and to track volume per hour.
Ensure that the entrance to the restaurant has someone there to greet guests at all times.
Ensure that the front of the restaurant is spotless at all times.
Check on every table to ensure that it is clean, spotless and fully set up, and that all silverware and glassware is spotless before any guests are seated at the table. Also check chairs and carpet underneath.
Pitch in and help in service, whenever the need arises.
Answers phone calls in regard to all areas of the restaurants, takes carry out orders, takes reservations
Have an excellent knowledge about the area and methods of transportation, etc. in order to converse with customers, give helpful suggestions, etc.
Be thorough with knowledge about the Resort services offered, operating hours of all food and beverage outlets, etc.
Conducts established opening and closing procedures.
Accurately handles cash transactions including counting change back to the customer.
Facilitates credit card transactions to include authorization, receipt and signature process and closing report reconciliation.
Processes house/group charges accurately using guest/group leaders' registration or membership card.
Completes cash transaction and credit card charge summary forms.
Maintains accountability for the accuracy of all sales and monetary transactions processed. Accountable for cash bank and ensuring that discrepancies are limited or do not exist.
Prepares deposit based on established procedures.
Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to handle multiple customer and operational demands with a high degree of professionalism, operating often with time sensitive deadlines.
Proficiency in the use and operation of computer systems with the ability to navigate efficiently through franchise reservation systems.
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, proposals, general correspondence and similar written materials.
Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. One to two years customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction division and multiplication.

REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to make appropriate judgments regarding solving practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
BASSET Beverage Alcohol Seller and Server certificate preferred.

HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime.
