The staff accountant ensures timely, accurate, and consistent recording of dealership transactions. This role manages transactional posting of dealership activities and assists the Accounting Manager on daily tasks. This position will build upon their dealership accounting and financial acumen that will serve well on the path to an Accounting Manager role. This person will perform other duties as assigned by the Group Controller and are not limited to the duties listed below.

- Communicate risks and opportunities with accounting manager and controller
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or 5 years commensurate experience is required
- Ability to design, and suggest process improvements such as automation of daily tasks
- Timely submissions, 8300, sales tax
- Reconciliations; RDR, advertising
- Assist in verifying gross (New, Used, Wholesale)
- Schedule reviews and maintenance
- Assist in accounting for manufacturer monies
- Understand and ensure packs are correct
- Review expense analysis trends. Ensure accruals are recorded in proper period
- Assist in audits (floor plan, sales tax, manufacturer) and year-end review
- Ensure all store transactions are processed timely, accurately, and under company policies and procedures
- Automotive industry experience (preferred)
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record is required
