The Franklin County Assessor is accepting applications for the role of Chief Deputy Assessor who will be involved in all aspects of the assessment process including the listing and valuing real property for tax purposes under the general direction of the Assessor.

Job summary: Involved in all aspects of the assessment process under the general direction of the Assessor. Assist staff, other offices, and general public with a variety of requests including tax exemptions and other assessment related topics. Assist with the supervision of department employees. Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of appraising real property for tax purposes. Ability to carry out mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to work outdoors in hot and/or cold weather conditions. Working knowledge of Iowa code, Administrative Code, and policies pertaining to the Assessor’s office. Salary dependent on experience with a comprehensive benefit package. This is a full-time, IPERS-covered position.
