Production Technician II

divh2Surface Mount Technology Operator/h2pAs an operator specializing in our surface mount technology line you will be responsible for the set-up, tear-down, and operation of the various machines that build our circuit card assemblies. In addition to low-to-mid-volume production you will be working with engineers and senior technicians to build new prototypes. This position will empower you to complete the tasks assigned at a pace that is comfortable for you within defined timeframes. This is a very detail-oriented role and we prioritize quality above all else./ph3Responsibilities/h3pSet up and operation of surface mount technology (SMT) manufacturing equipment. To include: solder paste screen printer, pick and place machine, solder reflow oven, and various support and inspection equipment./ppInterpret and work from technical drawings and manuals./ppSoldering work on printed circuit boards (PCB), circuit card assemblies (CCA), and follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently./ppCompletion and finalization of CCAs after SMT manufacture to include separation of PCBs from larger panels, labeling, and possibly small touch ups./ppWork with engineers to identify issues with new products and improve them./ppKnowledge of proper ESD controls./ppMust be detailed and quality oriented, and have a good sense of self-discipline./ph3Qualifications The Employee Must Have/h3pHigh school diploma or GED equivalent and at least 2 years of relevant experience in electronic manufacturing./ppBasic understanding of technical diagrams, bills of material, manuals and manufacturing principles./ppExperience with the operation of SMT/CCA equipment./ppExperience in a manufacturing or production environment/ppComputer literate with experience in Windows and Office products, and ability to learn new specialized in-house applications as required./ppAbility to take instruction and work side-by-side with engineers and advanced technicians to learn new skills./ppMust possess good verbal and written communication skills./ppThe ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance./ph3Qualifications We Prefer/h3pIPC J-STD-001 and 7711/7721 certifications./ppRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required education and certifications./ppCircuit card assembly and rework experience with soldering of both surface mount and through-hole parts./ppElectronic component identification knowledge./ppExperience with personal protection equipment (PPE)./ppAble to work in an organized, clean work environment to 5S standards./ppAt Sierra Nevada Company, LLC (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
