Housekeeper - Greenwich

Schedule: Full time, 5 days per week, 40 hours.
Open to live-in or live-out
Private Family in Greenwich, CT are looking for a fantastic, autonomous, year-round Housekeeper for their property in Greenwich.
The family are only in residence part time (they have various other properties), so whilst the home is larger (16,000 sq ft + 2000 sq ft pool house, 7 beds, 13 baths), only 1-2 bedrooms are being used at any given time.
The family consists of Mr and Mrs. They have three grown children who visit occasionally, and two elderly grandparents who use the home occasionally.
Duties will include:
- All regular daily cleaning - vacuuming, mopping, dusting to keep the home neat and fresh
- Deep cleaning (this is done on a schedule when family are not in residence - contractors brought in for big projects e.g. high windows etc)
- Seasonal projects if needed
- Laundry; washing, drying, ironing. Clothes and sheets, basic care (no high end clothing/ special care etc)
- Organizing closets and maintaining a comprehensive inventory of family's desired items when needed, such as for trips or special occasions
- Excellent service to principals and guests
- Ability to assist with special requests
- Collaborating with other team members including the house manager
- Occasional pet care
When the Grandparents are in residence, they have full time care (day nurse, night nurse, and PT Housekeeper who also does their cooking). There is also a Personal Assistant and Estate Manager.
There is a small dog and a cat who are at the home occasionally (a week or two at a time, a couple times a year). Being able to walk the dog and feed the cat would be preferred.
The family has another property in The Hamptons - ability to travel to this property occasionally (accommodation provided) for a week at a time when entertaining over the summer/ special events to help the long term Housekeeper there is advantageous.
The right candidate for this role is:
- Detail-oriented, trustworthy, well-organized, respectful, discrete, positive, energetic and punctual
- A self-starter and happy to work autonomously or collaboratively with other team members including the house manager
- Very professional with great experience and discretion
- Forward thinking and organized
- Love their work and have a long term outlook
- Have excellent English communication skills
- Valid US work authorization and drivers license
- Minimum of 5 years experience in private residence
Driving (for errands) is a bonus, but not a requirement.
Should the candidate wish to live in, separate live-in accommodation (under the main roof) are provided.
Compensation: $40 + per hour BOE, averaging approx. 45 - 50 hours per week
Annual performance based bonus
2 weeks vacation & 40 hours sick per year
Federal Holidays are paid overtime and accrue 1 extra day vacation per holiday worked - these can be used or carried over to the next year
