Urgent Care Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a full-time locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This opportunity starts on Dec 16, 2025, runs for 80 days, and features 12-hour weekday shifts and shorter weekend hours in a rotating schedule. The provider will work autonomously within a streamlined team model, seeing 40 or more patients per day. Job Details Location: North Carolina Start Date: Dec 16, 2025 LOA: 80 days Provider Type Needed: Urgent Care Physician Assistant Schedule: 12-hour shifts (8am-8pm weekdays, 8am-4pm weekends); full-time 36/40 rotating schedule with every other weekend required; flexibility to float to nearby locations Responsibilities and Duties Independently assess and manage urgent care cases in a high-volume setting Collaborate with a medical assistant and front desk personnel to provide streamlined patient care Perform and document comprehensive patient evaluations and treatments Manage acute illnesses and minor injuries for a diverse patient population Prescribe medications and manage refills in accordance with DEA regulations Maintain accurate and timely patient records Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards Additional Information Must hold an active North Carolina license Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certifications Ability to work autonomously is essential; not accepting new graduates DOT certification is a plus Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
