Yard Hopper

Overview:

Poly-America, L.P. is currently seeking a Yard Hopper to join our Shipping/Receiving department. Poly-America produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags, construction and agricultural films.

Yard Drivers work a yearly set schedule of 4 days on and 4 days off with 12 hour shifts from 5:00pm to 5:00am. The days of the week worked will rotate from week to week.

Candidates must be available to work each day of the week.

Yard Hopper at Poly-America are responsible for relocating, docking, and transporting 48 and 53 trailers within our manufacturing facility. They must be able to keep up with a fast paced production environment while accurately recording information to ensure on-time shipment of goods. This position also uses propane, sit-down forklifts to help load and unload trailers. The role may involve additional responsibilities and opportunities as they become necessary and/or are assigned by management.

• At least one year of experience driving commercial trucks or yard mules.
• A current US Driver's license (CDL not required).
• The ability to handle trailers quickly in tight spaces regardless of lighting conditions.
• The ability to work a night shift or a day shift as assigned by management.
• The aptitude and desire necessary to be a good student of Poly-America processes, equipment, and procedures.

Successfully passing a drug screen is required for this position.
