About the Role

As the Assistant Director of Staff Development you will be responsible to the participants of CSS for analyzing, planning, directing and coordinating training and development activities for CSS staff, including direct support professionals and program coordinators/supervisors. The Assitant Director of Staff Development will work collaboratively with the directors and coordinators of the organization to ensure that staff have the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in their roles.

Essential Functions include:
  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs on a variety of topics, including the Developmental Disabilities Administrative (DDA) training matrix for direct support professionals, technical skills, soft skills, and leadership development.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive staff development plan, aligned with organizational goals and employee needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain the learning management system (LMS) and other training resources.
  • Research and identify emerging trends in staff development and training methods.
  • Facilitate training and learning sessions.
  • Coach and mentor staff members on their professional development goals.
  • Stay abreast of current best practices in staff development through professional development activities and networking.
  • Supervise staff development team members.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees and ensure they understand their responsibilities in regards to training.
Requirements

You're a great fit for this role if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Development, Instructional Design, Adult Education or a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in staff development or a related field.
  • Knowledge of LMS training platforms and proficient computer skills.
  • The ability to develop and deliver training courses, excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
