We are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team at our Lincoln Park location. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of animals
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Take and develop x-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized animals
- Communicate with clients regarding their pet's health and treatment plan
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Clean and maintain equipment and facilities
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Current license as a Veterinary Technician in the state of Michigan
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
