Summary: Ensure all material going in and out of the yard is handled in an organized and safe way.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transfer material from the yard to warehouse.
  • Communicate all stock needs with department supervisors.
  • Ensure proper needed material is stocked.
  • Operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Complete a pre use inspection on forklift daily prior to operating the lift
  • Complete all paperwork as needed to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Assist in unloading in coming deliveries as needed.
  • Keep yard clean and organized.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Consistently meet acceptable attendance and punctuality expectations.
  • Complete all duties assigned within and outside of normal job scope.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement, identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Minimum one year as a forklift operator
  • Organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Efficient and able to work safely
  • Strong team work ethic
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Takes pride in quality of work
  • Knowledge of building materials used in residential construction.
Other Requirements:
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
