Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana is hiring a Part-time Registered Nurse in our Baton Rouge office

This position is responsible for providing quality nursing/medical oversight for direct support staff and individuals with intellectual disabilities who reside in our community homes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Reviewing medical evaluations, results, and processing / implementing physician orders
•Consulting with medical professionals regarding prescriptions, physician orders, and labs
•Observing & consulting with staff regarding medical status of residents
•Reviewing medication administration and records
•Provide all aspects of program care functions, charting, and documentation.
•Provide Certified Medication Administration (CMA) trainings as needed by the program
•Provide medication administration training to residential new hires.
•Administer Medication & Injections as needed while managing Quick Mar and My Chart
•Serve on Inter-disciplinary Team and Human Rights Committee
•Maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
•Participate in initial intake for new admissions, and coordinate all hospital admissions and discharges
•Participate in annual surveys

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a graduate from an accredited Nursing program and be licensed by the State of Louisiana as a registered nurse (RN). Minimum two years of nursing experience is required and experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a plus. VOASCLA is looking for a Certified Medication Administration (CMA) instructor or candidate who is willing to be trained at the agencies expense.
