Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, located in Charlottesville, VA, is hiring a Patient Access Representative - Full Time schedule.

This is a float position Monday- Friday with varying 8-hour shifts from 6:30am - 7:00pm. Incumbent will work in the at the Proffit Road location, Spring Creek location, or Sentara Martha Jefferson hospital.

As aPatient Access Rep with Sentara, you will work in the Emergency Department, Patient Registration, or a doctor's office. This position's primary duties include positively identifying the patient, collecting demographic and insurance information, and admitting the patients. This role allows you to work with both clinical and non-clinical staff. If you desire, there are promotional opportunities into a Patient Access Rep II/III, Team Leader, and Team Coordinator. Requirements:

  • 2 years of Data Entry Experience
  • 2 years of Customer Service Experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of two years of experience.
  • 6 Months of healthcare experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of third party payers, ICD-9/ CPT coding and medical terminology preferred
  • Proficiency in clerical skills including electronic communication and keyboard required.
