Description

The Director of Training will coordinate all quality aspects of training, coaching, and professional development programs for the workforce development department at The Community Group (TCG). The Director of Training will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the Regional Professional Development Center (PDC) contract. The Director of Training is responsible for the day-to- day management of the training & workforce development department and will directly supervise program coaches and facilitators. The Director of Training reports to the Chief of Workforce Development. This position is Full-Time and exempt.

Direct Reports: The Director of Training will supervise the Manager of Training, Coaches, and Facilitators.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Develop comprehensive training programs for educators and staff members, including curriculum development, training materials creation, and delivery methods.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of trainers and facilitators, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Develop a needs assessment to identify professional development opportunities internally within TCG and externally within our region.
  • Lead a recruitment strategy to attract and retain participants and organizations for our training programs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs and goals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and early education & care industry standards.
  • Stay current on best practices, research, and trends in early education and care to inform training content and methodologies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Training programs offered at TCG, providing client-oriented service and supporting programs and providers as needed.
  • Devise systems to ensure accurate and timely collection and management of all related program data.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of training programs, courses, and materials to ensure that the training content is relevant, engaging, and effective.
  • Monitor compliance with state requirements; Oversee the recording and submission of intake forms, action plans, coaching logs, notes, and other potentially relevant data elements.
  • Review and monitor training program service quality, ensuring that the training, coaching, and technical assistance offered is aligned with the Early Childhood Education (ECE) core knowledge, competencies, and state standards as well as Early Education & Care (EEC) licensing needs.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and/or other feedback mechanisms, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Conduct outreach within the local region, establishing relationships with local programs and organizations and maintain strong public relations within the community.
  • Facilitate and/or participate in community stakeholder meetings; represent TCG at local and statewide meetings as needed.
  • Develop mutually beneficial partnerships in the Early Education and Care field and collaborate with regional EEC office and licensure staff.
  • All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in early education or a related field is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5+ years in the field of early education, with experience in either a leadership or training/development role is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
  • Experience in collaborating with a diverse team; strong passion and commitment to working with diverse populations and creating inclusive and supportive learning environments.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation leadership skills; ability to interact with audiences of various sizes, of various educational backgrounds, and with competing agendas.
  • Experience in developing and managing high-quality programs or related work.
  • Demonstrated time management, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with internal teams, partners, stakeholders, and the broader community.
  • Able to take initiative, and work collaboratively in teams as well as independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, databases, and web-based applications.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as required.
