Plan, deploy, upgrade, migrate, and troubleshoot DB2/MySQL/MariaDB database systems
Ensure proper configuration and tuning of database systems
Ensure successful backup and disaster recovery processes for database systems
Perform restores as needed
Configure automated database deployment
Interface with the development team to aid in design and development tasks
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3+ years' administering IBM DB2 on Unix/Linux operating systems
3+ years' administering MySQL/MariaDB on Unix/Linux operating systems
3+ years experience in Linux administration
Experience with IBM AIX and PowerVM
Mainframe / Open VMS background
Experience migrating from DB2 to MySQL/MariaDB
Fluent in SQL and DB2 programming languages
Proficient in database design and development
Experience in performance tuning and optimization
Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy
Flexibility and willingness to learn and adapt
Preferred:
Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet Enterprise
Experience in Enterprise storage, FC and NAS
Experience with Rocket Software UniVerse or UniData
Experience with CI/CD using Jenkins, Gitlab, or Flyway
